It’s not only a great place to visit, it’s also a great place to work...
The Exploration Place has received an Award of Excellence as part of the provincial government’s first-ever WorkLife B.C. awards.
The awards are meant to recognize employers for finding innovative ways of maintaining a flexible workplace that balances work with family needs.
Employees at Exploration Place can enrol their children in the museum’s after-school "Explorers" program free of charge, which provides healthy snacks, computer access, as well as assistance with crafts and science experiments. The service is also open full time during non-instructional days and holidays and, once again, is available at no cost to employees.
Sixteen B.C. businesses were recognized in total, including: five Award of Excellence winners, one for each region of the province; along with 11 businesses receiving an Award of Merit. Nominations came in from organizations across the province in the private, public, non-profit and co-operative sectors.
