                                                       Highway 16-East near Tabor Mountain

It was one year ago today that Prince George RCMP were notified by a passing motorist of the discovery of a body in the snow alongside Highway 16-East, 22-kilometres outside the city.

The body was later positively identified as 14-year-old Aielah Saric-Auger, a DP Todd student who had last been seen on the evening of February 2, 2006.

At this time, RCMP say they have nothing new to release in the hunt for Saric-Auger's killer, but are emphasizing that they will continue to investigate all leads in relation to the teen's murder.

It was Aielah's disappearance and death that sparked last year's Highway of Tears conference (click here, for previous story), and several family members of women missing and murdered along the highway's western route are scheduled to meet with RCMP early next month for updates on those investigations.

Of course they have no new leads, they're too busy doing investigations on their own cops
R C M P have nothing "new" to report-on anything.
Require 4 additional officers to continue to report nothing.
Those that wish to be transferred-no problem-shoot somebody.
Removal to another detachment-immediate.
Better yet-get suspended-it is always with pay.
Just joking?
Trusted, wouldn't you be better off posting your simplistic views on a "Police hater" website? Obviously you have an axe to grind.Just my opinion folks.
In spite of all the negative views that some people have of the RCMP - they want them to respond immediately, if not sooner, when those very same people are in a real bind, like a violent invasion of their homes or some similar situation.

From *useless* to *hero* all in the blink of an eye...isn't it something?
Yeah, I admit troll, kind of a sick "joke."
Only going by what I read. Nothing personal.
I guess you feel all the other reports re the police and adverse activities when dealing with the public are all lies.
Now why would I have an axe to grind? You are surmising and making an uncalled for accusation. Do you really have that right? You must be above reproach.
If there is a "police hater" website, lead me to it. Always interested in other people's opinions, even yours.
When the RCMP say something is under investigation, that means they don't know anything.
If you want to feel safe in PG its easy....hang out at Timmy's....with so many cops there getting constantly fatter, you are likely pretty safe.

Seriously though....stop hassling speeders and petty crimes , and go catch thieves, killers, and drug dealers.

Who really gives a crap if someone named Sally or Jim drove 100 in a 90 zone on their way to work ???
