The City of Prince George Snow Removal program is setting up a budget for the current year that is nearly $150 thousand dollars lower than  the budget set for 2006.  The reason is that the City is  moving towards leasing  equipment which reduces the costs.

Still, 2006  not only had  residents digging out from under a lot of snow, it had the snow removal department digging deep into the snow reserve.  Snow removal costs were $1.15 million over budget, and the balance in the snow reserve is now $264,461 dollars.

It needs to be raised with our taxes and inflation....not lowered you idiots at city hall.
I propose a "one time" 4% tax levy for snow removal. That way we wouldn't have to use general revenue and travel funds if we have a heavy snowfall year. We could still let his worship travel and Offert's Castle on first avenue stay open.
I hear the mayor and the alder persons are passing on having their streets cleaned this year....thus the lower costs...
I know that is a laugh.... though everyone could use one in the face of this stupidity.....
They have to dip into this to pay for other things did'nt you know....Geez!
