In the most serious of three motor vehicle crashes yesterday, an erratic driver touched off a chain-reaction in the 21-hundred block of Ferry Avenue, near Highway 16.

RCMP say one person was transported to hospital with minor injuries in the four-vehicle collision that occurred shortly after noon.  Police say witnesses report an erratic driver had just weaved through the route, and traffic had slowed as a result when a westbound car ran rear-ended a truck, the truck hit a car, and that vehicle hit the car in front of it.

Another person was transported to hospital after a single vehicle rollover on Highway 16-West, near Beaverley Road-East.

And police say black ice is believed to be responsible for a vehicle flipping into the ditch on Chief Lake Road, near Sparrow Road.  RCMP say an eastbound pick-up lost control on the ice and started to swerve, the driver over-corrected and hit the ditch.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in that crash.
