Another Scam Making The Rounds

Another attempt to scam people out of their hard-earned dollars is making the rounds in Prince George.

City residents are apparently being heavily targetted by this latest effort to bilk local bank accounts.  RCMP say they've already received approximately 40 complaints about the campaign.

In a fax purported to be from the widow of former Lebanese businessman and politician, the woman promises a 20-percent share of $86-million dollars US, if you allow her to deposit cash from her dead husband's account in a European bank, into your account.  All you need to do is offering up all your personal banking information.

Once again, the police are warning, "If an offer sounds too good to be true, it is."  This is another attempt by a con artist to part you, from your money!

I have at least 20 of these sad stories in my deleted email file. It is amazing to me that there are so many people in the world, from different countries who are having so much trouble sharing all that money.

The next set of junk is from a number of scams presenting themselves as banks and paypal suggesting that my account has been opened in a fraudulent manner and would I please go to the security link and verify my information.

Other than paypal I do not know who to forward all this junk to.
The RCMP have a site for this
