A 22-year-old Prince George man is facing charges of impaired driving after blowing three-times the legal limit...

RCMP were called to a single vehicle roll-over on the Hart Highway just after midnight.  Police say alcohol, excessive speed, and icy road conditions were all factors in the crash.

The driver and lone occupant was taken to hospital for minor injuries.  After treatment, he was accompanied by police officers to the Prince George detachment where he provided breath samples.

Charges of impaired driving and driving over .08 are pending.  The charges are the 5th laid as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the past 24-hours in the city.

Now the courst should take away their licences for life!
Confiscate their vehicles...
and if they are caught again the firign squad sounds like a fitting punishment...
ok...I can't spell today
courts and firing squad....
Or at the very least when they are allowed to drive again, make them install those breathalizers in their cars at their own expense.
Personally, I think taking away the vehicle would be the best deterrent for some or most driving infractions, especially drinking and driving. Taking away a license does not stop a person from getting behind a wheel again, it's just a little tiny plastic thing with a picture on it.

I know it sounds like an outrageous thing to do, we would need larger compound yards and many, many more tow trucks (hey, employment opps here ), but just ask the mother whose child was run over and killed by a drunk driver, or someone speeding, or someone who missed a stop sign or a stop light. Yes, just ask that mother what she thinks. Most of us know someone who was killed in a vehicle accident that could have been avoided if the rules of the road had been respected.

So yes, get 'em where it will really make a difference. Take away their "ride" and make 'em "walk". That'll give them lots of time to think about their manners and habits. And if their car is at home and the one they are driving does not belong to them, go get the one from home too.
