'Shooting' Incidents Continue Along Queensway
By 250 News
Prince George RCMP have stepped up surveillance along Queensway Street where it's believed someone has been using a slingshot to fire at passing motorists and homes and businesses in the area.
Over the span of the last four days, Police have received eight complaints from victims - the majority of whom have had their vehicle windshields smashed out as they were driving along Queensway.
RCMP say in the most disturbing case, a young woman was shot at as she walked near the Gospel Chapel -- the wall of the building was hit at least eight times with either pellets or small ball bearings.
Two of the most recent incidents occurred early this morning. Staff-Sergeant Doug Aird says a residence in the 16-hundred block of nearby Ingledew Street had a window damaged - it faced an alley and Queensway. Aird says the caller reported seeing two to three young people in the alley-way at the time.
Just a little over 10-minutes later, police received a call from a witness who reported seeing adults shooting at businesses along Queensway.
Staff-Sergeant Aird says the vandalism may have been caught on video and police continue to investigate.
