The Council of Canadians is hoping you will join its fight to stop the sale of Terasen Gas to Kinder-Morgan a Texas based company.
The Council says the sale, announced earlier this month, is another example of how Canada is losing control of it's natural resources.
Terasen doesn't own any natural gas or oil patches, but it does deliver most of the natuaral gas consumed in B.C. and 20% of Alberta's oil production.
The Council is urging concerned Canadians to find out more about the sale, and register disapproval of the move with the B.C. Utilities Commission, the Investment Review Division of Industry Canada, and with the Shareholders of Terasen Gas. The Council says the sale can be stopped if 25% of the shareholders say no.

Hours and days and weeks spent trying to stop the Teresen Gas deal with the City of Prince George. Went ahead anyhow, as the residents could not give up the thought of a few million FIFTEEN years down the road.
It matters naught what that Council of Canadians says. The shareholders are not going to stop this-as the shares will go up and they will make money. That is all the talk they need. They are not going to say No to additional monies.
Consider it a "done" deal.
I trust not this purchase, as I wonder if there could be even the remotest possibility we could be on the hook for some of that SEVENTY some MILLION the city borrowed for Teresen Gas??? The city seemed to be in such a hurry to promote and get that deal through. Did a city this size really need to be on the hook for such an amount-to give to a huge company???
We have learned through the Softwood Lumber process the Americans have no intention of giving any consideration to a so called "agreement," and do we think we will be given any consideration re this gas deal should they decide Prince George is not deserving of the agreed upon funds????
City Hall can go ahead and tell us again how safe this deal was and is.
I am perhaps overly concerned when it comes to the operators of this city, and think the residents here are pretty placid and very easy to dupe.
I sincerely hope I am wrong, but I fear the Americans have more surprises in store for us.
Yes, I admit, I am of little faith.
