Families of the eleven women missing or murdered  along Highway 16 between Prince George and Prince Rupert will meet with RCMP investigators today in Smithers.

Lisa Krebs, the co-ordinator hired  to  assist in the implementation of the recommendations from the Highway of Tears Symposium,  says while it is expected the investigators will  provide an update on their efforts, there are other issues  which need to be dealt with.   "We're hoping to establish just who is  family" says Krebs.  She says in the past  there have been meetings between police and the "families" but the families she has contacted didn't know anything about the sessions.  "We need to  set up a communications list  and we need to set up more than one meeting per year" says Krebs.

Krebs says police have been working on the development of a data base and there is a lot of information to transfer. She says officers have told her that one case alone had 50 bankers boxes of  information  that had to be entered in the data base.
