When the Prince George Spruce Kings skated off Penticton ice Saturday night they expected a prolonged road trip. The Penticton Vees downed the Kings 7-3 to relegate Prince George to fifth place in the BC Hockey League Interior Conference.

The Kings, who finished the regular season with 3 games in 3 nights in the Okanagan, expected to open their best-of- seven quarter-final conference series Tuesday night in Salmon Arm against the fourth place Silverbacks.

Hold everything, because Salmon Arm is hosting the Esso Women’s National Championship, the Kings vs’Backs series will open Tuesday night March 6th at the Prince George Coliseum.

Game two is Wednesday night on Coliseum ice before the next three games, if needed are held in Salmon Arm.

If a game six is necessary, the Spruce Kings and Silverbacks would face-off Tuesday March 13th in Prince George.
