Charges of Dangerous operation of a Motor Vehicle are being contemplated by police, after a 39 year old Prince George man  rammed another vehicle on Domano Blvd shortly after 1 p.m. this afternoon.
The chase began at the Canfor Mill  in Isle Pierre,  when the 39 year old man  believed someone had stolen some items from his parked vehicle.
The alleged thief then took off heading east on highway 16 at high speed pursued by the mill worker , who caught up to him at the bottom of Domano Blvd hill , across from the College Heights Senior Secondary .
A fight ensued and police arrived on the scene moments later.
No one was hurt in the chase , or the fight , but police wish to advise the public that it is extremely dangerous and illegal to pursue anybody in a vehicle at high speed.

I wonder how ICBC will deal with this?
hope the guy got his stuff back and pounded the hell out of the thief.
I didn't say the fellow was a thief,
the bad guy thought someone hasd stolen some of his goods....but if in fact the fellow was a thief then maybe a beating would be in store.
But the pursuer should loose his licence forever.... he is not a police office, obviously not a very good driver either.
I suppose it is nice to live in an alternate world.
The theif is well known to the police but they ditched the evidence before it could be found. It was a bad choice to chase and consequences will follow. Not with in the fellow character at the least. Unfortunately the theif get off free.
High speed chase? Use the cell phone.

I wonder where Gofaster works in the alternate world? Should tell a thief that the Gofaster fellow is OK with a loss or two. He might complain but he won't do anything, just walk around him. HeeHee!
THE PERSUER SHOULD GET A MEDAL.IF MORE PEOPLE TOOK CONTROL OF THEIR SITUATION WE WOULD HAVE FEWER PROBLEMS.IN THE GOFASTER WORLD WE STUDY,CONSULT,ANALYZE,DISCUSS AND....WOOPS THE S@!T HEAD IS GONE. TIME WE HANDLED THE PROBLEM THE OLD FASHIONED WAY. THE GOFASTER WAY DOESN'T WORK,NEVER DID AND NEVER WILL.
A HIGH SPEED CHASE on public roads is just stupid.
Take a plate number and call 911.
Stop endangering the lives of others.
It said in the newspaper that people should not take the law into their own hands. Sounds fair to me. That's why the cops get paid big bucks, I guess. Reading that should make the criminals a little bolder and maybe a bit more dangerous. I am meek and I'm still waiting to inherit the earth. Sure is takin' a long time tho.
Leave it to the R.C.M.P. They are the experts at shooting people in the back of the head and claiming self defense. Only the R.C.M.P. have this power not the general public.
It isn't my world
Now come on REALIST...that's just plain nasty.Let's not tar all of the RCMP members with the same brush.(I do however understand your point and why people might feel that way)
I do not blame the guy for giving chase.
Calling the cops is a lesson in futility if one expects the thief to get anything other than a slap on the wrist and a "be a good boy" lecture. That is, if the cops catch him. God forbid they should leave a half cup of coffee and a doughnut for such a trivial matter.
I sometimes dislike myself for a negative attitude, but when I read of all the drug busts but never hear a name, or a penalty they must pay, I am of little faith in the justice system. The same goes for the B & E artists, armed robberies etc.
Matter of fact, the biggest liars I have found in court rooms are the lawyers, and the secret meetings between them and judges to determine judgement calls is indicative of a very, very, sick justice system.
I do believe I also would have given chase. We make our own judgement calls and some may be foolhardy, but when the adrenalin pumps, who predicts the outcome? No one. That is one of the reasons cops shoot in haste. I believe if they could relive the situation it would have a different ending, which would not result in a death.
We do not always get that second chance.
That thief deserved a good thumping, and obviously the police were called, as they did not just happen on the scene by chance.
On occasion one just does what seems justified-at the time!
Whether or not you believe in beating up suspected thieves it is still utterly moronic to endorse a car chase over a break in. Sorry guys, but only a redneck would risk his life and the lives of innocent people to recover some CD's or whatnot. HAd someone been injured what would you guys be saying? Suppose the vigilante had run over my mom while she was walking across the street? I wonder what you would say then? Also , i guess in that case i would be justified in running down that vigilante to get some justice of my own. Get a grip guys! I mean, i watch a lot of TV but i still live in the real world enough to have my priorities straight.
As for the Rcmp, well if you want better service then get the 911 and non emerge calls received in PG rather than VANCOUVER and i am sure the service will be better.
I agree with caranmacil on this one. When you get into a high speed chase after an idiot all you get is two idiots. If there had been a serious accident because of the chase some people would be in serious trouble, especially if someone was killed.

Try dangerous driving causing death on for size.

Having said that I can still see people losing their cool, and chasing after the crook.
