Another step has been taken towards  the replacement of the Cameron Street Bridge.

The City has issued a  "Request for Qualifications" for the design of  the bridge replacement.

The  City’s  documents say  they are  looking to find out which companies  would be  qualified to take on the project which calls for the  "replacement of the Cameron Street Bridge with a  2 lane, 4 span superstructure  that will use the existing piers."

Only companies which  are qualified to undertake the work and can demonstrate  they are able to  meet the deadlines have the potential to move to the short list.

Interested companies have until  March 22nd to submit their  proposals.

The City hopes to award the contract to build the Cameron Street Bridge by the end of May and have the complete  desidn and tender package  ready by the end of September.

Well I would hope that only qualified companies would do the work...
I am not partial to swimming inside my vehicle.

ah steps, baby steps....
Nice to see things finally moving ahead. The end result would eventually come to this. Let's get it done and move on. It's not perfect, but it's what we can afford right now and we need to do something to take some of the pressure off 5th and the Bypass. Chester
