RCMP in Dawson Creek are asking for your help in their ongoing investigation of the  murder of  a Dawson Creek man.

December 2nd of last year, police were called to  a vehicle fire outside of Dawson Creek.  They discovered human remains in the burned out vehicle, those remains have since been identified  as 28 year old Thomas Willcocks.   (shown at right)

Police have already  determined the murder is likely related to a drug dispute in Dawson Creek.  A number of search warrants have been executed and several items have been  seized including a number of personal items and jewelry, however, Police have not been able to account for a ring Willcocks wore often and which  carries deep sentimental value to the family.

Willcocks’ family is devastated by his death and is asking that  anyone who may  have information on  what happened to Thomas,  or why,  to please contact police.  RCMP are  aware there are witnesses to the crime and are encouraging those witnesses to  come forward and help in this investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dawson Creek RCMP at (250) 784-3700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS

I bet the Crew got hold of him. He probably worked for them and knew to much. Sounds similar to what happend to that Renegade guy here in town a few years ago.
Out of respect for the family at least lets refrain from gossip and speculation here. Its bad enough someone lost a son in a terrible way without people ruining what reputation he might have had.
The crew has spread up to the creek. When a resource based economy employing younger transient workers is booming, the drugs aren't far behind. Illegal drug use is rampant amoung the oil rigs! Was up there last week and they had a similar situation to PG's (shots fired at a person in a car). I also overheard some of the boys in blue at the local coffee shop yaking about a couple of people who had beeen tied up and had their throats slashed!!! They think or kknow its the crew.
As unfortunate as it is the gangs and the drug dealers are everywhere. Its horrifying to see what money can make people do. Its all about that God Almighty Dollar. But to take a life? How sad that people don't take this consequence into consideration before becoming involved.
I am the wife of Thomas Willcocks, and I know more than any of you out there trying to say that he was a bad person. He was an amazing husband, father and my best friend. His 3 children all under the age of four, are terribly missing him, and they dont deserve to read things like what Kelly Hayes wrote. I am saving all articles of his death so when our children get older and start asking questions, I will have these to show them. Lies are not what I wanted my kids to read. Thomas loved his family more than anything. Have you ever stopped to think about what kind of childhood Thomas had growing up, or why he would leave his family in kelowna, and go up north. What Kelly didnt write was that he was up in Tumbler Ridge working at Sword Transport he lost his job after many months of working there, and went to the closest town, Dawson Creek, he spent many days out there working as a swamper, not what he wanted to do. He was staying at the Cedar Lodge motel, and got caught up with the wrong group of people. He never left here to go out there to drug deal. And its sad how many people are quick to judge a person they dont know, that wasnt his plan at all. He was supposed to be home for Christmas. We spent the hardest Christmas alone without him. And its sad that all people can say is that he was a terrible person, he knew what he was getting into. No he didnt, he didnt know he would be murdered when he quit the drug business, he didnt know what kind of people he was dealing with. But no one stops to think about that now do they, they just jump and point fingers all in the wrong directions.
I am sincerely sorry for you and your family's loss Mrs. Willcocks. Nobody except the persons involved know the whole story, and yes people are quick to give an opinion, myself included. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, it certainly wasn't my intention. I realize that people make mistakes and can become involved with the wrong people, it happens. And you are correct it doesn't mean they are all terrible people. But the men that took your husbands life are very bad people and they have no respect for human life. Those are the kinds of people I think that we on here are all referring to. My heart goes out to you and your family. Take Care.
I'll second snappi's comments and offer my condolences to the wife of Paul Willcocks. Let all hope an arrest will end all speculation with a trial that brings justice to the family that was left behind.
