As the Ministry of Health prepares for its Conversation on Health  forum in Prince George, a call has been issued for  people to join in a rally outside the site of the  forum.

The B.C. Health Coalition  is sponsoring a rally  to coincide with the  Conversation on Health  session  this Saturday.

The Coalition  says the Province can afford health care spending, that  the governments puts about 7 cents of every tax dollar towards health care, and that is the same amount is spent in 1991.

The Coalition also says that when it comes to  per capita spending on health care, BC has slipped from 2nd to 6th place between 2001 and 2006.

The Coalition says  not much will change between now and  2017, that  the provincial budget's portion of spending on health care will still be about 40%.

The Conversation on Health  forum is set for the Coast Inn of the North, Saturday.  The session for  health care professionals will take place Friday at the Ramada Hotel in Prince George.  That is also the site for the patient focus group sessions.
