Road Runners Win a Second in a Row

Roadrunners of Kelly Road are assured of a top ten finish at the BC triple-A boys high school basketball championship in Vancouver. Kelly Road improved to 2-1 with a 77-59 victory over Mount Baker of Cranbrook. The Roadrunners built a 5-point first quarter lead into a 19-point cushion at the half. Kelly Road led Mount Baker 52-29 after three quarters. The ‘Runners, who scored 21 points off turnovers, were led by Jesse Greenwood’s 28 points, 5 from three-point range. Dennis Stark had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the north central champs.  Carson McNaughton netted 15 points. Kelly Road dropped it’s opener at the provincials 82-72 to Oak Bay, before handling Caledonia of Terrace 61-44. The Road Runners square off against Burnaby South at 11am Saturday for 9th place in the 20-team championship.

Good work by Kelly Road...its too bad they fell slightly short in their opening game...i think they had an opportunity to make some noise at one of BC's premier sporting events.

Considering the quality of teams in this tournament a 9th place finish would have to be considered a success.

Congrats to Kelly Road on their season thus far.
How about having the Provincials outside the lower mainland.............Gee whiz where could we accomodate this tournament as of next fall???
