The College of New Caledonia Board of Governors has approved the College’s 2007/08 operating budget

The balanced budget totals $41,981,901 in expenditures and estimates a surplus of $5,791 for the period April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.

CNC Interim President John Bowman, described the College’s 2007/08 budget as a “good news” story. “The good news is that the College has been able to prepare a balanced budget for the coming year, and that in 2007/08 no program or service reductions have been necessary in order to balance the College’s total expenditures with projected revenues.”

The CNC budget includes additional provincial funding for the new Medical Laboratory Technology program, as well as funding for negotiated salary increases for college employees.

Although not yet included in the budget, the College has also been advised to expect increased funding ( about $700 thousand dollars) from the Industry Training Authority (ITA) to offer additional apprenticeship courses (electrical, carpentry, welding, machinist, millwright, planermill technician and plumbing) over the next year.

"The CNC budget includes additional provincial funding for the new Medical Laboratory Technology program,"

Hopefully ALL the money received for that program will actually go to funding that program and not be skimmed off to other services such as ABE, library, etc.
They say they have a surplus, well that is now, any bets they are looking for more money before the year is up?
