Road Check Nets 7 Drivers

The Integrated Road Safety Unit carried out a road block  for two hours on Ferry Street at Clapperton  in Prince George last night.

During that two hours,  7 drivers were hit with 24 hour licence suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for 24 hours.  One other driver faces  an impaired driving charge.

The unit also  conducted some  intersection enforcement activity at several loacations in the City.  Numerous charges  were laid under the Motor Vehicle Act to drivers for not wearing their seatbelts and for disobeying the yellow and red lights.

People in Prince George who took part in a recent police satisfaction  survey indicated traffic activities  were one of the  areas they wanted to see police  pay more attention to.
