Prince George Regional Hospital  is ready to officially open its new teaching centre that has been under development on the north end of the fifth floor for some time.

The "virtual classroom" will be a featured part of the facility.

The new  facility  has been developed as  part of the Northern B.C. Medical program  and will link PGRH with Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, Royal Columbian
Hospital and the Leslie and Gordon Diamond Health Centre in Vancouver.

The official launch of the  facility will be made later this morning with a virtual link  with  Health Minister George Abbott and  Dr. Gavin Stuart, dean of UBC's Faculty of Medicine.  They will demonstrate how the province's medical students are benefiting from video-conferencing technology that  connects hospital classrooms.
