Local travel agents say news that Harmony Air is curtailing its flights in Canada, Palm Springs, Maui and Honolulu, will have little effect on local travellers.
They say few booking have been made with Harmony in the past year since West Jet ramped up its flights to US destinations.
Harmony has announced it will cancel its flight into Toronto this Friday and the airline plans to refund money paid by passengers.
Harmony says it is exploring other opportunities including charters. Prince George had been rumored earlier as possible spot for Harmony , extending its flights from Kelowna. That move never came to fruition.
Harmony Airlines made the headlines when the former B.C. Finance Minister, Gary Collins, left his government job to head up the airline. He was back in the headlines recently when he resigned from his position as head of Harmony.
