Visitors Welcome....Tomorrow
By 250 News
Effective tomorrow, the North Peace Care Centre will, once again, put out the welcome mat for visitors.
It has been nearly two weeks since the restrictions were first put in place because of an outbreak of influenza "A".
“There have been no new cases since Saturday, March 24th among clients or staff”, said Doctor Charl Badenhorst, medical health officer, Northeast. “This outbreak demonstrates the importance of being vaccinated against influenza, particularly for staff and residents of facilities with more vulnerable populations.”
Samples sent to the BC Centre for Disease Control confirmed the presence of Influenza ‘A’ among clients and staff at NPCC.
A total of 18 residents and 15 staff members were affected by the illness.
Infection prevention and control will remain a high priority, as the North Peace Care Centre re-opens to visitors and resumes its Adult Day Program on Wednesday, March 28th.
