Council to Resume Public Hearing

The public hearing on several by-laws resumes tonight at Prince George City Council. At the last meeting, the session went on so long, Council agreed to keep the hearing open and resume the discussion this evening. That hearing is looking at Council will also be asked to approve a deadline for an “Alternate Approval Process” so the City can borrow nearly $7.18 million dollars through three different bylaws for a variety of projects including the Cemetery mausoleum, Waste water treatment centres, and the water main extension from BCR -Danson to Ferry Avenue The suggested deadline for the collection of 5535 signatures saying they oppose one or more of the bylaws is 5 p.m. May 14th. Council will also be asked to look at the funding options for the construction of the Heritage River Trail -Highway 16 underpass . That is the project which bids have come in $360,000 higher than the budgeted amount.
