Results of the United Transportation Union/ CN Rail ratification vote will be known tomorrow.

Today is the final day for ballots to be returned to the Union’s head office in Ottawa. The final count will be undertaken tomorrow.  The results to be released at 2 p.m Pacific time.

The one year deal was reached just before back to work legislation was to be tabled. That would have sent the dispute to arbitration.

While ratification ballots were sent out to CN’s 2,500 UTU members across Canada March 7th, there were some new union members who indicated they hadn’t received a ballot. The union then reached an agreement with CN to extend the counting period in order to have ballots reach those who were missed in the initial round.
