Highway 16 East Knocked Out of Commission

Highway 16 east has been blocked in both directions. A slide 115 kilometers east of the city,  has resulted in the closure of the highway.

Crews are on the scene,  but at this moment,  it is not known the extent of the damage , or when the road may re- open.

Highway workers who live near the scene,  say it will be some time. For those who must get to Edmonton, they will need to go via Dawson Creek , or Kamloops , and north to Jasper
