The Four  Seasons Pool in downtown Prince George had to be evacuated this afternoon when alarms went off  indicating there had been a leak of chlorine.

35 to 40 people were in the pool at the time,  they were  sent to the Civic Centre.  No one hurt, but City of Prince George Aquatics division Manager Lana Kiem says  as soon as the people were out, EMS was sent in to turn off the chlorine tanks.

Kiem says it isn’t known yet if there actually was a leak, or if the alarm had malfunctioned. They continue to investigate.

Police cordoned off  a two block area and continue to monitor the situation.

So, who is EMS? I see pictures of Emergency Response Personal from the Fire Department. I am also aware of the Haz Mat Response Team from the PG Fire Department. Is that who turned off the Chlorine tanks?

"Kiem says it isn’t known yet if there actually was a leak, or if the alarm had malfunctioned."

Does this mean that the EMS team does not have chlorine detection instruments? Or that they do, and the instruments did not detect chlorine, thus suspecting a malfunctioning flow alarm?
