The B.C. Liberals failed to pick up a seat in Cariboo North.  The New Democrat candidate, Bob Simpson, picked up the seat with a narrow  victory over, former Quesnel Mayor, Steve Wallace.  The vote tally  went as follows:

Bob Simpson      6933 votes   47.15% of popular vote

Steve Wallace   6734   votes   45.80% of popular vote

Douglas Gook    777 votes        5.28% of popular vote

James Delbarre   259 votes        1.76 % of popular vote

Thjis riding was predicted to be a squeeker, as although Wallace was  very popular in the Williams Lake area,  the residents of Quesnel were still stinging over the Quesnel City Hall matter. The riding had been Liberal in the last election, with Dr. John Wilson as the MLA, but the riding was up for grabs with Wilson's retirement.

In Cariboo South, there will likely be a recount.  New Democrat Charlie Wyse,  edged Incumbent Liberal Walter Cobb by a single vote.  Wyse picked uip 6748 ( 45.61% of the poular vote)  to  Cobb's 6747 (45.61% of the popular vote)
