Faulty Gasket Blamed for Gas Leak

The source of yesterday's chlorine gas scare  at the Four Season's Pool in Prince George  has been identified and  repaired . 

It was a faulty gasket, which the city says was "repaired immediately".

Yesterday afternoon, the chlorine leak alarm sounded.  The pool was evacuated and 35-40 people were  moved to the Civic Centre until the all clear was given. No one hurt.

The pool was reopened   around 5:00.  All regular programs and services  are back  on schedule.

Good thing no one was exposed to the gas. Very nasty stuff. Gaskets and O rings etc should be checked regularly. The space shuttle was brought down by a faulty one. Cudos to the alarm system.
