Initiatives Prince George's Gerry Offet,  Prince George City Manager Derek Bates, and Councilor Brian Skakun  have  wrapped up a presentation to the  B.C. Conservative Caucus.

The session was  held in Kamloops and was chaired by M.P. Betty Hinton.   Although  M.P. Dick Harris  helped set  up the meeting, he wasn't able to attend as he is  attending the Council of Forest Industries Conference in Prince George.  Hinton  says Harris  and  M.P. Jay Hill have  been very supportive and have pressed  for action on the very  issues the Prince George group presented.

The three Prince George reps talked to the  Caucus about   the need for some funding to be used  for projects for infrastructure  and economic diversification. Specifically, they  talked  about funding for the Northern Sport Centre,  and the replacement of the Cameron Street Bridge.

The P.G.  continngent was  one of about a dozen civic  groups to make presentations.  Kamloops has  requested assistance  to extend its runway to 8,000 feet,  Kamloops has also been  pressing to have  some  tax breaks for  private land owners who have to remove  beetle kill.

This afternoon, Quesnel Mayor Nate Bello will make a presentation to the Caucus.

Notice how Harris and Hill are very missing when push comes to shove...
