Cnvenient term, ROAD RAGE.
In fact it means an inability to control your temper....
so should you be driving a ton of death around if you can not contol your actions?
Probably not.....
And yes there are some very frustrating drivers and pedestrians out there...
sorry no excuse....pull over and coo off then continue...
or not!
A good penalty would to have drivers license suspended for a year...might make people reconsider taking a bat to others vehicle.
Its the potholes ..... they bring people to the breaking point. ....
BTW ... I have not seen any crews out fixing potholes yet ... must be driving the wrong streets.
So this is what it comes down to? Beating on peoples cars with baseball bats when you get P.O.ed?
Give this twit jail time.Lots of it.It is long past the time when we need to start fighting back and making examples of these winners!
Hahahah...!!won't happen and we know it!!!
Where are people playing baseball at this time of year?

Most assaults are caused by incidents that precede them and are typically family and aquaintance related.

It will be interesting to follow this to see if it was actually road rage or if it just happened to happen on a road.

For all I know, it could be someone who posts on here, or someone like that, who like to take the law into their own hands. The "victim" could actually be the perpetrator who just tried to rob a place or vandalize someone's property.

Do we really know that from the above? After all, this is an early report and is still under investigation.

I always find in interesting how the same group on this site is so quick to reach conclusions on very little information.
54 years old? against a 26 year old?

If I were quick to judge based on generalizations rather than facts, I could come up with a few standard scenarios of why the 54 year old did what he did.
yes, too early to tell but still baseball bat is pretty serious stuff (54 yr. old could've copied license plate instead) and for the pothole comment I heard on one of the radio stations one morning that its pointless to fill potholes when temps. still get too low as it just causes the newly fixed potholes to sink again. It's true as one was filled and sure enough shortly after we all were driving around the pothole a few days later again...now filled again so we'll see....bob and weave and get on with your day :) potholes are so very minor compared to some stuff happening in the world at this very moment.
My guess is the 26 yr old is a neighbour.
A year ago he asked to "BORROW" a cup of sugar.
In that year he has not replaced the sugar, and the 54 yr old caught up to him , and used the baseball bat to "BORROW" some glass chips in return.

Is that a good enough case of letting my imagination run wild ?
lol i'd say McFly. Let's see how many of us live to be 100...scary world.
I beleive there is one (Old) dump truck and two (2) City employees driving around town repairing pot holes. I suspect that the pot hole repair plan is like the Citys Bylaw Enforcement Plan, that is, it is complaint driven.

The were repairing holes on Lyon St. last week and got about halfway done, and then left the rest and disappeared. Bigger complaints coming in from somewhere else.

If the roads were properly fixed and paved, we could get rid of some of the holes for a number of years, however we have to spend Millions on a new bridge, Sportsplex, Replay Board, Police Station, Performing Arts Centre, etc; then we will get on with the pot holes. Maybe the City could come up with a Pot Hole Tax Levy in addition to the Road Repair, and Garbage Levy.

Or maybe if we are not successful in getting the Western Canada Summer Games we can take the money that has been put aside for this **Grande Endeavour** and apply it to road and pot hole repair. Whats the chances?

I agree that pot holes are not our biggest problem, however our inability to fix the small problems like roads, pot holes, and excessive criminal behaviour should give us some indication that we have a **Management Problem**
We have gun control, now we need temper control? Little late for gun control looks like.
Does this look and sound familiar? … who would‘a thought we were not the pothole capital of the world? …

Look at the comments …. Is this a parallel universe??? … spooky, eh what?

"I heard on one of the radio stations one morning that its pointless to fill potholes when temps.

Read or skim through the attached. The secret, as with many things, is quality. Quality road in the first place ... then a quality patch when the road fails in a few spots.

There is no problem with fixing a pothole at almost any time of the year, as long as one uses the right material, right tools, and the right methods.

Of course, one of the problem becomes that many holes which are quickly repaired simply do not get re-done at a later time in the year, so they are the first to go in the fall/winter.

from the above link:

"Road agencies now may patch potholes, permanently, as soon as they’re discovered, even when the substrate is wet.

Self-propelled, near-robotic pothole patching machines can service each step of the pothole patching process, reducing crew requirements to as little as one operator."
Nice info on better ays to repair the potholes...thanks

But owl, you never commented if my story was crazy enough or not.
Since you apparently feel it was NOT just road rage. That they knew each other, and had an altercation for some reason stemming back in history.
Is my grasping at straws story good enough fir you?
I eagerly await your reply Grand Master Jedi.
"Self-propelled, near-robotic pothole patching machines can service each step of the pothole patching process, reducing crew requirements to as little as one operator."

The fact that it reduces manpower seems to be the number one objection to overcome in P.G.
I like your story Mcfly ... maybe we should have a contest with categoris such as:

1. most credible,
2. most likely
3. closest to the one which is shown to be the case once the RCMP finish their investigation.

I just do not like when people assume to much ... not that I do not fall into that category at times as well .... but hey, gossip is fun, eh?.

:-)
I get where you are coming from for sure owl, and am sometimes guilty of the same thing.
But i try NOT to read too much into the stories.
It was labeled a simple case of road rage...so I was going with that theory till i heard otherwise.

Cheers
Thanks owl for the good reads. It seems everything these days is done cheaply and/or poor quality whether it's buying a new dvd player or saving money on potholes???? And did the man just happen to have a baseball bat in vehicle or does he plan to carry one incase he needs to teach someone a lesson? Now that's scary. Does anyone know?
It looks to me like someone was talking on a cell-phone while driving. Road rage in reaction to that circumstance is somewhat understandable, even if inappropriate.
WOW if your temper is so bad that a person on a cellular makes you attack with a baseball bat....well I have no words really....maybe move to a very remote piece of wilderness, build a cabin, and stay away from ALL people then.
A quick guess says he put the bat in the car with the idea that he might need to use it on somebody. Therefore, he made the conscious decision that he was going to get mad and swing it at someone, at the time that he put it into the car.

Therefore, he is likely more the type of person that is angry and looking for a reason to be.

Either that, or he could be just a jilted ex-lover.
