Regional District Chips in to 16/97 Alliance

The Regional District of Fraser Fort George has  approved  funding of $50 thousand a year  for  two years  to the Highway 16-97 Alliance.  The  dollars will be  administered through the Innovation Resource Centre.

The Alliance has been gathering funding from communities along the two transportation corridors to  identify and develop  economic  diversification opportunities.  It was responsible for the report on the inland container port.

In a recent presentation the Alliance  noted, Quesnel, and Wells have  also committed to financial participation in the Alliance.

The Alliance has already  built  working relationships with  educational institutions and the Beetle Action Coalitions with the Omineca Beetle Action Coalition indicating  it would be willing to contribute $25 thousand dollars .
