Natural Gas Price Hike Possible...Again

With the price of  fossil fuels hitting record highs, it was only a matter of time before Terasen Gas  would come calling asking for  a boost in the price of Natural gas.  The company is asking for an increase of 5 - 10 %, which, if approved,  would add at least $60  to the average  residential heating bill in Prince George.

Terasen says the request for a rate increase, (the second in as many months the third in just over a year) is a result  of a combination of things, not the least of which is the demand for  power to  keep the air conditioners going in eastern Canada and the rising price of  fuels.

The gas company says the rate increase is not related to the sale of Terasen Gas to Kinder Morgan.

I thought air conditioners ran on electrity. Now is the chanch to show the USA what power we as Canadians have!~ Say NO, in fact, cut the price tell them it is pay back for softwood
Nope-big ones-gas!!! Gas bills do not vary a great deal in a lot of businesses from summer to winter. It is air conditioning in summer-heating in winter.
Have to run the air conditioners-or no customers- when weather is hot Spring and fall, maybe get a bit of a break-otherwise it is a pay pay pay proposition!!
A hot summer costs as much as a cold winter.
I can just imagine what some of these restaurants are paying for gas.
Must be horrendous!!!!
This is inevitable, a given, we are going to be paying through the teeth for all fossil fuels until we get smart using solar power, wind power and other non fossil fuel using energies. All fossil fuel companies will gouge us until we can't pay anymore! Sad but true, When does anything go down as much as it has gone up??
Just wait until Kindar/Morgan takes over. We will have to beg and pay any price for natural gas from the our "friends down south.
