Fire in a garage behind  a home  at 1913 Redwood Street this morning, melted the siding off the home.

Prince George firefighters responded to a  blaze in a garage behind 1913 Redwood Street this morning in the  Victoria-20th Avenue area.  The Garage was fully engulfed when they arrived on the scene.

Officials had been told that someone lived in the garage, and while  the firefighters did see the charred springs of  a  cot, there was no one in the building at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is not known, Fire Chief Jeff Rowland says the building had no heat, and no electricity.

The damage estimate is not  yet  available.  The investigation continues.
