Police have called on river boats to patrol an area about 20 kilometers (13 miles upstream) on the Fraser River after it was reported that a motorcycle, with two people on it, went into the river off the Upper Fraser Road .
It is believed that the driver was male; it is unknown whether the passenger was male or female.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 1:40 this afternoon.
They say a dive team will not be called to the scene because of the swift , turbid river, the level of which has been increasing day by day.
Const Gary Goodwin of the RCMP says, "We can’t say whether they made it out of the river or not, that is the purpose for calling in the river boats to see what we can find."
The motorcycle involved has not been recovered and the brand of that motorcycle is not yet known.
