Back on the trailer after two and a half days at the bottom of the Nechako River

Jet Boat friends and family helped Murray Scott recover his 20 foot jet boat  from the Nechako River  Tuesday.

The boat sank on Sunday evening after hitting one of the pilings on the Foothills Bridge ( see previous story)  all four people on board  made it to shore  safely.  All four were wearing life jackets.

The boat sank within seconds of hitting the bridge, and  the water pushed it downstream about 500 metres.  Other  jet boat enthusiasts, put a line on the boat, and tied it  to shore to ensure it wouldn’t  go any further.

Tuesday,  the crews brought an excavater  to the site and lots of cable, and  dragged the boat  up on to the bank.

The boat didn’t suffer too much damage.  (photo at right shows  engine, and lots of  sand)

One  window is gone,  the other is smashed,  the  driver and passenger seats up front are gone, and the motor cover is no where to be seen.  The swim grid on the back  is  buckled, but, the engine is intact the hull looks solid and the gps was still attached to the dash.

She  can be fixed to  run another day!

Boys and their toys!
Right on :)
Sounds like an expensive habit. Glad they got it out.
Now to figure out how to keep it running while in the river.
Better idea...run it in the lake instead.
yes i think the boat earned it's way to the lake :) Gotta treat her like a queen now she deserves it. And yes it's a she.....look what she survived ;)
