Police are seeking a man who threw a stink bomb , and a drink , at a dancer at Joe’s Place shortly after 1.15 a.m. this morning.
The dancer received bruising to her leg from the glass.
A short time later police were called to break up a brawl at the Cadillac Ranch on 2nd.  Ave. Police learned that a barred customer, the same suspect being sought in the Joe’s incident,  was asked to leave the bar, and a fight broke out .
The suspect struck the bouncer, and a friend of the bouncer joined in the fight. Other people in the bar gave assistance; one however suffered facial injuries after a chair was used in the fight. He was taken to hospital.
RCMP expects to lay charges in the matter.

Yeah, we need more liquor stores, then these guys can stay at home.
Maybe if these idiots got three months of community service to clean the streets and pick up garbage they wouldn't be so keen to put on a show every night in the downtown. There seems little to dissuade these goofs from doing whatever their 12 beer brain tells them. We just keep paying the police to be bouncers and security for the local establishments night after night after night. We don't need more liquor stores to keep these guys at home we need ankle braclets to keep them there.
It's true we don't need more liquor stores. I can think of better things to spend our money on but really these people that want to go out and get drunk are going to find their alcohol somewhere. If these girls wish to dance for a living they should complain to their boss for better protection. Maybe a caged idea. Be more strict with who enters the building as well. Community service is an excellent idea and always has been.
IMO - there should be a liquor store on every corner, that way the fools might be more tempted to walk to and from, rather than drive and maybe kill our children in the process. In the pool of drunk drivers, I pray that One BAD Apple doesn't get my kids.
I personally would love to strangle people who drink and drive but really when they're drunk and they think to drive a lot of them will...they don't care at the time. :(
Hey how about this? A special liquour store where fifty percent of all taxes taken in are used to fix the roads around Prince George. That way all the drinkers have the option of buying their booze from a store that can at least return some of the money spent on vice to fix potholes or godforbid repave the roads. Taxpayers get to choose how their tax monies are spent. Call it Woobly Popholes! Just don't tell MADD about this plan.
Maybe the mother of the guy who assaulted the dancer should be told what her son did. Or maybe the daycare lady didn't bother instilling respect into this guy's head when he was an impressionable little shaver. Teach them respect when they are young. Hope the dancer has a sense of humour. In all, what a joke.
Brings back memories from years ago.

After a union meeting for work a few of us headed down to Joe's for a few drinks. We're sitting there having a good time when all of a sudden someone smashes their beer bottle on the stage sending glass everywhere. My first thought I opined out loud to the bar without even realizing it is that the guy must be a f***t and I sat back down. A few moments later 10 roid monkeys rushed our table and tables, chairs and everything started flying. I was lucky my buddy dragged three of them onto the stage and was knocking them all down and the bouncers jumped in on our side as we were sitting with one of the owners at the time. When all was said and done half the bar was turned upside down. Turns out the same guy that threw the bottle was the bouncer at the Generator at the time and was working later that night making things kind of interesting (sure makes one feel safe when getting drunk downtown). Not sure if I would opine again in the same situation, but its kind of hard to sit there quietly when someone does something as stupid as that.
Sounds like Joe's has a crowd control problem.
"Community service is an excellent idea and always has been" ....

I volunteer .... it keeps me out of trouble .... more or less ... :-)

So, I suppose that if I ever get caught throwing something I shouldn't be, I have a lot of community service banked up ... maybe I can sell them to someone who needs them .... :-)
"buying their booze from a store that can at least return some of the money spent on vice"

So drinking an alcohilic beverage is a vice???

There is the problem we have right there in a nutshell .... keep on thinking that way and that is what it is ....

next time the local theatre has a fund raiser using beer tasting or wine tasting as a theme, we'll call the vice squad to raid the place ....
If a person has a choice on what he or she can drink, why do so many choose something that mood alters and why do we seem to need this so badly in todays society? This is exactly why drinking is a vice
A stink bomb? I guess the dancer's act stunk? :) What next?
sell them to someone for a beer owl ;) How was celtic hour? Yes Realist is right about the hard liquor. Why do so many people think drinking whiskey or what have you will make things better? You still have to wake up the next morning and deal with your problems but with a hangover. I'm so glad i'm not 19 anymore. Actually i'm so glad I have my kids :) Any more news on that rehab center that's in the talks?
I'm being good. Just havin' a beer(local beer brewed right beside the Nechako River) and readin' the 250!
The wife's the bouncer and that's all right, didn't want to go down to Jordy's or Joe's or whatever it is now anyway.
First of all I don't think anyone deserves to be abused...secondly I wouldn't call any female that dances naked one a stage in a bar full of drunks a lady. This "lady" puts herself in jeopardy every time she gets on that stage. Alcohol is everywhere and that obviously isn't going to change, just like their are jerks out there that think they can be rude crude and abusive when they drink. I do feel bad for the dancer, she doesn't deserve to be attacked, however she does have choices.
Must have been a 2nd rate peeler. ALl the good ones are up in the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek area because of the oil patch money.
The PG circuit is what is known as the minor leagues while the big leagues are up north! sigh......
snappi.....victim blaming.

This guy needs some time alone in a small room. What the hell was he doing with a stinkbomb, anyway ?

Sounds like pre-meditation, which means he probably had some beef with the dancer beforehand, or at least a beef with the establishment. In any event, he went out drinking, having already prepared himself to cause sh!t, before he drank anything.
If you read what I wrote you would see that I wasn't blaming the victim. Regardless of what she does for a living, or my opinion of her career choice she doesn't deserve to be abused. I too suspected that maybe they knew each other previous to this altercation which leads me to another conclusion...which I will keep to myself.
If the dancer belonged to a union, maybe the picket signs would go up.
