Later this morning, Teresa Layne Senner will find out what sentence she faces for the November 2002 stabbing death of Vanderhoof Principal Norman Wicks.
Supreme Court Justice Glen Parrett will impose sentence today on the mother of two.
Originally charged with second degree murder, a jury found Senner guilty of manslaughter.
Senner’s Lawyer was calling for a conditional sentence or something less than two years as there are Immigration issues.
Senner was just two years old when her family moved here from Oregon. Immigration considered the family to be “permanent residents” but the events of 9-11 changed the way Immigration handles things.
Because Senner has been convicted of a serious crime, Immigration will issue a “removal order” once sentence has been passed.
If that sentence is more than two years, she will lose her right to appeal Immigration’s “removal order”.
