Final Five Set For RBC Royal Bank Cup in PG

It took a fourth overtime period in the seventh and deciding game to determine the fifth and final team to the RBC Royal Bank Cup May 5-13 in Prince George. The MJHL champion Selkirk Steelers edged the SJHL Humboldt Broncos 4-3 in Selkirk Manitoba to capture the Anavet Cup and West region junior A hockey title 4 games-to-3 in the best-of-seven series.
The host Prince George Spruce Kings will also be joined by the Pacifc Region champion Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, Central region winners Aurora Tigers of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League and East region champion Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Ontario Junior A Hockey League. The opening Saturday night of the five-team Canadian Junior A Hockey championship will feature the Spruce Kings against the Pembroke Lumber Kings at CN Centre.
