Tents and more tents signal Relay For Life Weekend at Masich  Place Stadium

A tent city has formed at Masich Place Stadium for a weekend event that is unique in Canada. The only 24-hour Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life goes from 10am Saturday to 10am Sunday in Prince George.

The 15th annual Relay For Life attracted 140 teams and 2,051 participants to raise funds for research into all types of cancer and support local programs for cancer patients.

The 24 hour event begins with the Victory Lap for cancer survivors.

At midnight, the Relay stops for the luminary ceremony, an emotional time to honor cancer survivors and remember those who passed away from cancer. Last year, 124 teams raised over $300,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
