Two more crack shacks were busted last night, as police in the city continue to try and shut down these operations.
Police entered two barricaded buildings in the 2200 block , and the 2300 block , of Quince Street.
13 people were arrested inside , and a quantity of cash and drugs , as well as a prohibited weapon,  was seized.
Police say that the buildings were blocked off in an effort to prevent police from gaining entry, a practice that has become normal of late.
Police say that in order to bust these operations they need help from the public in order to obtain a search warrant and they ask people who have that information to get in touch with crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

13 people , eh? Am I gonna hear the word probation when and if any of these people go to court? I love this town, this province, this country. And every government.
It seems that the Police are taking an active role in closing these places down. This is what people have been asking for, and what they expect. Hopefully they will continue to target these places and lay all the charges that they can legally lay, and hopefully put a number of these people in Jail. Over time they may decide to go into another type of business.

One problem we are facing is the the Prison on the hill is overcrowded and I understand that they are double, triple, and sometimes having 4 people to a cell. Once this jail reaches capacity, then of course we are back to Probation, Ankle Bracelets, and doing time at home on the Week-End. This will not help the situation.

Who was the great **Brain** that dedided to tear down the Old Prison, and to close Huda Lake Prison???

Instead of building a New Police station, maybe we should be taking the $21 Plus Million and build another Prison to hold these prisoners.
Actually, using that 21 million for a new prison makes perfect sense to me.
They could always give the police some office space in the new building if they need it that bad.
God know's,we can't keep going the way we are now.
Unfortunately prisons are an important part of fighting crime. If they are full, build more.
The revolving door approach just isn't working. It's making it worse.
Hey Palopu,

There are other Centres in the Province, and there will be tranfers from one to the other if needed.
Good Job RCMP!!!! It's about time that a more pro-active approach is taken!
We as a society have a roll in this as well as the RCMP.
You heard the cops, they need tips in order to get search warrants, so do your part. A round of applause for another job well done.
LETS START BY SEIZING THE CRACK HOUSE FROM THE OWNER AND EITHER BURN IT DOWN OR SELL IT AT AUCTION. MAYBEE THIS WILL SEND A MESSAGE TO LANDOWNERS TO SCREEN THEIR TENNANTS MORE CLOSELY.

IF WE THE MAJORITY, GET TOGETHER WE CAN STOP THIS INVAISION.
