While imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery, Prince George RCMP officers have found serious problems with a city man's attempts in this regard.

Police pulled over a pick-up truck on Victoria Street, near Diefenbaker Drive around midnight and discovered that the vehicle's licence plate was a bad imitation -- it was actually a piece of cardboard that had spray-painted numbers and letters on it.

RCMP say the 20-year-old male driver was found to be in contravention of numerous offences under the Motor Vehicle Act - including no insurance and driving without licence plates on the vehicle.  The driver has two previous convictions for no insurance and was charged with the same offence just a week ago.

Maybe he will be put on the license plate making production line if he gets jail time. He should come out with improved skills.

Some guy once put a couple of Chiquita banana stickers on his licence plate. Apparently he got away with it for a while.
Creative, anyway. Now, it probably would have been cheaper to just buy plates. Or at least pay to have them done professionally.
