Expect P.G. Gas Prices to Climb

While  the latest survey shows Prince George's gas prices  were among the highest in the country last week, hurricane Katrina is adding extra pressure.

The price for U.S. crude has topped 71 dollars a barrel during trading this week and  with Katrina knocking out  25% of U.S. oil production, that may be just the start of the upward climb.

As of 8:40 last night, you  could still get gas in Prince George for 1.099 per litre, but it jumped elsewhere:

Vancouver           $1.13
Edmonton           $1.02
Toronto                $1.20
St. John's             $1.156

Heading into the last long weekend of summer vacation (with plenty of  tire traffic) don't be suprised to see the price of gas in Prince George jump before the day is through.

The sense of insecurity does not appear to be lessening in this city.
There may be some improvement in the economy, but let us not deceive ourselves that we are on a rapid rebound.
It is just not happening!!!!
We are still trying to avoid that final flush.
We have a very long way to go.
Our population is not any 80,000. I do not know why people say that.
The vacant buildings are not filling up.
Do not go out and be a big spender. You may find the rainy days will not have clouds with silver linings.
Play it safe. Keep some in the bank!!!
But do not forget to "count your blessings."
At least you do not live in Louisiana.
How about 123.9 in Kamloops BC. Gas companies are ripping us off as it is never mind Katrina. Any excuse to raise the price. The barrel actually went down over a $1 today and the crooks raise the price. WHAT ARE PETRO CAN, IMPERIAL, HUSKY AND SHELL's PROFITS THIS YEAR? Too embarassed to tell us I guess. Why not just put gas up to $2.00 where they want it and we could be over it.
hey if you don't like it, then buy a bus pass and shut up.
