ForesTree Fest is back for its third and final year in Prince George - the tree planting program aims to put back what beetle kill has taken out of city parks...

This community-based initiative is supported and organized by a number of local residents, groups, agencies, business and the City of Prince George.  In the first two years of the program, more than 4,000 trees of 8 different species were planted in city-owned parks.

This year is expected to be the best planting year to date as a result of a record number of sponsors and donations.

Forest and Resources Expo has sponsored today’s planting at Bednesti Park.  Volunteers are invited to come out and plant trees - the event begins at 10am and runs until 11am.

A second planting session, sponsored by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, goes at Cherry Park from 11:30am until 12:30pm.
