The family  of Daljit Sandhu continues to search for the missing young man from Richmond.

While details of the investigation remain sketchy it is known that six boxes of marijuana seedlings were located in the 2007 Ford SUV that went into the Nechako River at Vanderhoof last weekend.

So far police are only saying that the SUV driven by Daljit Sandhu went into the river shortly after 3:30 Saturday morning.  The passenger in the vehicle  was  found, but there hs been no sign of  Sandhu.

The family took over the search, and on Sunday the vehicle the two youths were riding in was recovered.

Still no sign of  Daljit Sandhu.

No other details are available in relation to the Mercedes Benz that was apparently in the same road check that involved Sandhu.

The original statements said that the pair riding in the SUV fled the road check because Sandhu did not have a license. Other unconfirmed reports say  the passenger riding in the vehicle was found hiding in some bushes down stream of the accident. He was taken to hospital, treated for hypothermia and  released.  His identity has not been released.

Police continue to investigate the matter
