Integris Credit Union wants to close its  office in Parkwood Place and move to the River Point Shopping Centre  at the corner of  Highway 16 and Ferry Avenue.

That information was made public at the Prince George City Council  meeting this week when  Council was asked to  give first two readings to a  bylaw that would allow the financial institution  to  have a building larger than  the  space currently allowed.  Right now, the maximum allowed within the Z8 zoning is 500 square meters.  Integris would like to have a facility  that will be about  750 square meters.

In a letter accompanying the application, Lorne Calder, the Chief Financial Officer for Integris says  the move would give  the financial institution a better distribution of branches  that "best suits our members needs." RIght now, the Parkwood Branch and Towne Centre Branches are only 7 blocks apart.

Integris says that while it would close the Parkwood location,  its Towne  Centre  Branch at 1532 -6th Avenue and its 5th and Ahbau Branch at  513 Ahbau Street would remain  open at those locations.
