The Province is working in partnership with the Red Cross in  setting up a toll free flood information line. The line is designed to  provide up-to-date information on the flood situation throughout B.C.

The line was activated yesterday and will initially  run from noon to 8 p,m daily.  Those hours will be extended as needed.

The number is 1-888-350-6070.

"Communities throughout the province are taking steps to prepare for potential flooding this spring and we want to be sure the public is kept well informed about what is happening," says Solicitor General John Les.  "This information line will provide details of the current flood situation and, in the event of flooding, information on evacuations, road closures and safety precautions they can take."

The call centre will be based out of the Red Cross B.C. Disaster Response Centre in Burnaby. That facility can  run 44 call lines and handle  up to 10,000 calls a day.

Sorry, we didn't listen to the experts and prepare ahead of time while we could but, to make up for it, we are giving you an 800 number so you can get angry about being on hold instead of watching your property go under water. Unfortunately, at that point all we can offer you is rescue from your flooded homes but, hey don't forget we at least did this for you at election time!
hello,hello, Gordo?...I think..glub..glub..water..glub glub..rising..burble..burble..glub..can you..glug..help me?
