On Sunday September 11th, the Prince George Symphony Orchestra will revive a musical tradition with a "Pops in the Park" concert at the bandshell in Fort George Park. Beginning at 2 pm, this free concert will feature a wide variety of popular and classical music, ranging from the Beatles and the Beach Boys to the Blue Danube Waltz and the Barber of Seville. Conductor Les Dala will also feature some music from the Harry Potter films. Everyone is invited to come and sit on the grass in front of the bandstand and listen to an hour or so of fine music, played by the PGSO in appreciation of the city's support for the orchestra over the years.

On Saturday September 24th, at 8 pm in Vanier Hall, the orchestra will play the first of its regular season concerts, featuring three great pieces. The concert begins with an overture by the Canadian composer Elizabeth Raum, followed by a performance of Antonin Dvorak's much-beloved cello concerto, and finishes with Johannes Brahms'
towering second symphony. Tickets are available at Studio 2880, and at the door.
