Area Man Charged With Trying to Burn His House Down

A 56 year old area resident has been charged with arson , after it is alleged that he set his home on fire , on Louise Drive, north of the city limits , shortly after 9.45 pm last night.
Police arrested the man at the scene without incident.
The Pilot Mountain Fire department had responded to the scene of the fire and was able to contain the blaze.
Damage has been estimated at about $90,000 dollars. No one was injured during the incident.
