Superior Energy To Look Into Complaints
By 250 News
President of Superior Energy in Mississauga, Greg McCamus, says he will start an investigation into complaints about one of the sales people doing door to door sales in Prince George.
The complaint is that a least one salesman told a Prince George resident that he should sign a customer registration with the company to enable Superior Energy to conduct a survey. In fact, the document was an agreement to purchase natural gas from Superior Energy for the next five years.
McCamus says, “I realize the seriousness of the allegations, we will not tolerate this kind of alleged conduct within our company.”
The company has representatives in the city signing up customers on a door to door basis to leave Terasen and move over to Superior.
The resident from the Hart area of Prince George says the salesman asked him to complete what he thought was an agreement to allow his name to be part of a survey on the price of natural gas in the area. The person says they asked not once, but twice if this was a contract, and were assured it was simply a registration for a survey. The resident later discovered he was signing up to be a Superior Energy customer.
In a letter from Superior, Cary Shulman wrote the customer in question saying, “Thank you for your e-mail. We have cancelled your plan effective 05/25/07. You will receive a letter from Terasen Gas, please just disregard it.”
Regardless of who is knocking on your door, the advice is always the same, read the document before you put your signature to it.
