The proposal to rezone a piece of  property at Foothills and Chief Lake Road  for a neighbourhood pub was to be on Prince George City Council's agenda this evening, but the item was withdrawn.  It is not yet known if the item will be back before Council at a later date.

Also  off the agenda, the proposal to boost the rate for garbage pickup.  Mayor Colin Kinsley said staff wanted  to go over the numbers one more time.  The initial proposal called for a boost of  rates of $4. $8 and $12 dollars for the small, medium and large containers.  That matter is expected to return  to the agenda June 9th.

hmmmm...maybe city council is hearing footsteps coming up behind them for election time?
The new system was to save us money. What gives. When I get some time I intend to find out.

I suspect that they have bought smaller trucks and have to make a lot more trips to the garbage dump, and in fact the system is costing them more than they thought. Surprise, Surprise.
