Golf Club And Pomeroy In Court Today
By 250 News
The Prince George Golf and Curling Club has a court date today to deal with the Pomeroy Group.
That is the company which initially put forth an offer for the golf club property.
The Golf club claims Pomeroy reneged on the deal to buy the property because it didn’t act fast enough to develop a plan for the site.
Pomeroy had offered (and the Golf Club accepted) to pay $15 million for the property. Pomeroy had indicated it was going to turn the site into a residential neighbourhood with its own commercial area.
With no plans or development of a neighbourhood plan put before the City, the Golf Club then inked a deal with some other developers. This time the property was sold for $15 .5 million.
The two sides in the dispute will be in B.C. Supreme Court today. If the Golf Club wins the case, it will be able to continue with its plans. If the Judge rules against the Golf Club, then the property will still be Pomeroy’s.
