School District 57 Chair Bill Christie says “I think we have turned the corner in so much as school admissions."

He was speaking about the fact that the district is predicting a much smaller drop in attendance than had originally been expected.

Christie says "Last year  we had predicted 600 fewer students, as it turned out we dropped only 384 in enrollment."  This year the picture  is a little brighter, "This year we think it will be less then that."

The School Board Chair said it was tragic to have to go through the closing of schools in the district over the past few years, "To see the numbers increased as they have has really warmed my heart."

Do the math Billie boy, more students=more money, less students=less money. Talk to your man Gordie in Victoria if you do not like it.

later.........
I have often wonder what the heating and insurance costs are on schools.
Will be up considerably this year.
It really is a blessing they did close those schools for lack of enough students.
Doubtful the taxpayers could have afforded all the costs involved.
I sure hope this winter is not too rough on people living here.
It'll be costly-for sure!!!
